Argos Srl is an Italian company operating in the electricity and gas supply sector, with a solid presence in both the residential and business markets. The company stands out for its ability to offer comprehensive energy solutions, combining supply services with digital tools for contract and consumption management.
Argos reached out to us because their digital application no longer met user and business needs. The app had a limited and unintuitive interface, with features that were no longer aligned with current expectations.
The visual experience was neither pleasant nor aligned with the brand’s values, creating a perception of a poorly refined service. The goal was therefore twofold: on one hand, to make the app genuinely useful and accessible for users, and on the other, to completely modernize its visual design, restoring a coherent and trustworthy digital identity.
The collaboration with Argos was structured into successive and complementary phases with the goal of ensuring coherence, effectiveness, and scalability.
We began with an in-depth analysis and design phase aimed at fully understanding the needs of both the client and end users. During this stage, we defined the app’s vision board, clarifying strategic objectives, brand values and the most appropriate communication tone.
In parallel, we carried out a comparative analysis of similar applications on the market, identifying strengths and weaknesses. This enabled us to accurately outline the functional requirements and establish intervention priorities, taking into account both business needs and user expectations.
Next, we designed the information architecture, determining how to organize content and features in a clear and intuitive way and mapped the main user flows to ensure that every interaction was simple and straightforward. Finally, wireframes served as a key tool to preview layouts, allowing the client to evaluate and approve the structure before the UI design phase.
Moving on to user interface design, we developed custom components to ensure visual consistency and ease of use. The choice of colors, typography, and spacing was guided by principles of readability, accessibility and alignment with the brand’s identity. The resulting prototypes enabled us to simulate the final experience, gather valuable client feedback and ensure that each element effectively met user needs.
During the development phase, both the mobile app and the web app were built using Flutter, a framework that enables high-performance applications across multiple platforms from a single codebase. This choice reduced development time, ensured a consistent visual experience, and maintained high performance across all devices. Only minor adjustments were required to make the application usable as a web app directly from any browser.
The backend was developed in Ruby on Rails and efficiently manages data related to users, contracts, bills, and payments (to name a few), while also integrating with external systems such as Odoo, Stripe and Iubenda to synchronize data from third-party services via dedicated APIs. The combination of Flutter with a flexible backend ensured that the application was robust, scalable, and ready to evolve over time with new features.
This project presented several challenges. For example, ensuring the robustness of the payment workflow was crucial, as it represents an extremely delicate part of the user experience. Another key challenge was guaranteeing a fully responsive UI across any screen size—desktop, mobile, or tablet—and we are very proud of the result we achieved.
The project led to the development of a complete digital ecosystem made up of an integrated mobile and web application.
In addition to the features already available in the previous application, users can now view bills and consumption in real time, check payment status and upcoming due dates, submit meter readings, open support tickets, and request immediate assistance.
Supply management has become simple and intuitive:

- View consumption data, including seasonal insights
With this restructuring, the app delivers a modern, intuitive user experience while improving operational efficiency for the company. This allows Argos to enhance customer relationships through reliable digital tools consistent with its brand identity.
